When covering the cables for S.V.A.Do you have to cover every single wire. even short stretches of earth around 50mm (2" long?
I seem to remember that someone here said that the loom had to be upto the same standards as a modern production car loom layout. They are fully sheathed, but wires are unsheathed as they connect to components so I think you should be OK with 2'' to an earth connection
As long as the wire is not going to move around and come into contact with anything that could damage it you are alright. If you strip a donor loom
you will find wires doubled back to save cutting and all kinds of bodges to make the job easier for the installer so don't get too hung up on it.
Common sense dictates that you need to be able to see some of the wire colour to do the job.
