yesterday.
Anyway, I disconnected the cables, took it indoors and removed the panel.
Now you may have done simlar and then sit there to
a) realise you have no idea how it is supposed to work
b) have no idea why it is not working
c) even if you could figure out the fault, you have no idea how to rectify it
So I pushed the disc magazine in, plugged it back in and it worked!!
So I unplugged again, fitted the cover on and fitted it back into the car.
Now at this point normally the item would stop working but it didn't!
Woo hoo, £ 60 odd quid saved!! And music in the car!!!
No idea why though, guessing there may have been corrosion or loose connection?
Weird stuff this elecitrickercity.

ah its simple. the trick with electics is too not let the smoke escape from the wires. In this case i guess the smoke got cold and changed into
liquid. As we all know liquid doesn't flow as well as smoke. By taking it in the house you warmed it up and the liquid will have evaporated and
turned into smoke again - problem solved
Powering most stuff off for a few minutes then powering it back up clears loads of faults with processor based kit such as yours.
With the kit I work on (phone systems) it never ceases to amaze me what a simple reboot will fix.

Obviously, you haven't been dealing with computers a lot.
Had a problem years ago, my cdr ahd stoped working, took it out, took the controller out, any combination you like and i could think i had tried.
In the end, got it to test it on a friends computer, went there, started playing games and didn't do anything about it.
Took it back at home, pluged it in and worked perfectly all right.
