can't work this one out...
want to use toggle switches in the exempt area behind the wheel.
i want an on-off-on for indicators. esy enough
but what about headights?
i can get off-on-on (off-side-headlight)
then i'd need another switch for hi and low beam (my headlights have a solenoid powered flap that blocks the light to dip the beam) so i guess
thats just an off-on switch
what about a flasher switch for the lights? do i need that too? how do i make sure it only flashes on hi beam and not dipped? do i need a flasher
(off-momentary) switch, or can it just be done with the off-on-on headlight switch?
why dont you just use the stalks from the sierra column, much easier to wire in for sva
because i don't have a sierra collumn, stalks or anywhere to attach them to in my car, and i'm not sure they'd work with these new
hella 90mm main and dip beam lights anyways, because of the solenoid flap thing

dont think you need a flash function do you? as long as you can turn the main beam on and off.. i had the 3 sets of light circuits on simple 3 on off
switches in the dax
on off - side lights
on off - dipped lights
on off - main beam
I think you need an on/on for your main beam, i hope im right cos thats what i've just bought plus an on/off/on for the lights.
Here's a wiring diagram I've done for mine. If you replace the sierra stalk with a changeover (on[1]-on[2]) switch and get rid of the feed
to pin 15 it should work.

indicators are on there as well, I've gone for a savage hazard switch as it makes the wiring easy. If you have a single indicator warning light
rather than individual ones, it wires on the earth from the flasher relay.

My car makes use of one of these (linky) which is indeed an
off-on-on switch.
- Although i would suggest using a relay with it, unlike my car currently does.
Then theres a toggle switch to toggle between dipped and main. Which does use a relay.

Thinking about it, an alternative would be to use a switching relay and a on/off switch

ah yes, makes much more sense with everything else taken out.
seems easy enough, but i think the difference might still be that instead of a relay for main and dip, i have a relay which just powers the bulb (H7)
and an on-on switch.
might be off-on actually, with 'on' to power the flap solenoid to give main beam. this would make sense since main beam will be on least
often, and the on position on the switch powers the blue warn light. off would just allow the solenoid to spring back to dip position?
so one relay for the lamp itself, and just run the main/dip control through the switch?

yep that looks good to me too - one thing i would add would be the main beam warning light - make sure you buy a LED bulb that does require a resistor - they are more reliable and can be bright as well.. maplins are good - just ask
Ive been looking at this again in more detail, with the hope of actually maybe geting around to rewiring mine as i really dont like how warm the dash
switch gets at all. (espcially given that the last one faild by melting)
However, while the lower diagram would work great and give me the functionality i currentl have, through relays. Can anyone think of a clever way of
using the same two switches set it up so you can flash the headlights (headlights without diped or side) ?

Would something like this work.
Not sure about the resistor, or a suitable value for that.
- I know somones described a way of doing this, but it might have been using a DPDT swtich for the high/low beam toggle.

Also, the beam warning light was to go to pin 87 not 85 clearly, and would idealy need to be fused also i guess.
