Need a ford Duraspark Module
mikeb - 24/4/09 at 12:40 PM

Has anyone got a spare ford duraspark module knocking around.

After a couple of hours with the autoelectrician it would appear the unit is capput. Can't seem to find a spare anywhere.

As its only really an amplifier, e.g. take signal from hall sensor on distrib and amplifies it and sends to the coil. Any know of an alterative unit?

Thanks

Mike

Interestingly my motofactors can get a new unit for £40.
More interestingly when I told him the car was a capri 2.8i 1987 he quoted a bosch part as the ignition module when they tryed granda 2.8i it came up with the Duraspark unit.

Sounds like the bosch unit could be a relacement, from his dodgey description of the picture in his book it may have the right connectors and number of them but the body of the unit is much smaller, I'm interested as is only £20.

You can use a GM HEI module.
