Temp sender adapter

I have an auxillary temp gauge which has a slightly different sender to the standard 'blade one (1/8 NPT M10):

Gauge sender
Gauge sender

I was going to look at tapping in to the exisiting sender hole and was given some really helpful information about doing this by AB. However, the old sender is reluctant to come out and to be honest, I don't want to risk the consequences (and work) involved in removing it. So I am looking for something like this only in 25mm:

Any ideas or has anyone machined anything similar?

I can't believe I have answered my own question. Did a load of different Google searches and found this:

My temp gauge doesn't seem to work either, so I'd be interested on finding out.

I don't have the original bike clocks - it had a Vapor on it which was connected to the original Fireblade sender (unsuccessfully!).
I have now put a Veypor unit on it but that doesn't have a temp gauge so I have bought a couple of additional gauges. I am going to put the new sender in the hose to avoid any damage/work getting the old sender out of the head.

Depends where you want the sender to be. The most accurate indication of engine temp is having the sender fitted to the block. If you fit it in the top hose it isnt going to tell you what your engine temp is until your stat has opened.

Hence why I am making matt a proper adaptor to fit into his block.

Thanks for the advice Flak - I am going to put the sender adapter in the hose just after where it connects to the 'blades thermostat housing. Its as near to the original as possible but will be wary that it will be slightly lower than "actual".

Look on the rally design web site they are a lot cheaper on there and you can get them with different threads to suit your sender.

part number from catalogue is HA25, they are £9.50 + VAT and known as a hose adapter.


Part number doesn't work on their website, give them a call or see them at Stoneleigh.
