I have just bought a gel battery - an Aero ES18-12

1. Do I need to charge it before I put it in the car?
2. Can it be mounted on its side?
3. How do I charge it?

1. Good idea to especially if it's been standing!
2. Normally yes but check with spec from manufacturer
3. Get an intelligent charger like a Ctek which will keep your battery healthy when left for long periods.
