speedyxjs - 4/6/09 at 06:13 AM

How do i know if i need a relay to switch my starter motor or if it is built in?
The SM has two connections on the back, one for +ve battery and one other.

Edit to change solenoid to relay

workshop manual for the engine???

I would have thought that a relay is not required most starters have a relay in the soilinoid but putting one in would not hurt just run a wire to the positve of the battery to one side of the normaly open and the other side to the coil of the starter moter solinoid then run the a1/a2 coil pair for the relay to a starter switch

But id be fairly confident that it is not nessary might be worth phoning a starter moter specialist up and giving them the part number of the moter and play dumm
