been looking for some Solder TODAY
to do my car wireing as i have a gas iron, but when i looked on ebay there was so much choice?what is the best stuff to buy?
i have a maplins close to me i can also try.
(IM USEING A PORTASOL PRO-50 PORTABLE GAS SOLDERING IRON)
Just buy a reel of solder with the flux already in it from maplins. They will advise you....
Yes, but fluxed solder.
Something like N34BJ from Maplins.
B&Q still have real solder, it is still legal to sell it for electronic repair ----- in B7Q all the solder is kept in the plumbing section
5 coreflux is the way to go

Best. Solder. Ever. (least, it's really high quality and lead based)

Good - all the stuff in Maplins et al is Pb free and is a right b@stard to get it to flow properly.
Is the B&Q stuff flux cored though? as it's for plumbing.
