I am trying to take my clocks off the r1 loom, and despite my best efforts and mucho elbow grease it just won't budge

Am I missing a trick here? I have been pushing in a tab but I can't pull the clocks off the loom. Is there any technique/knack I should know of?

I am sure the car was waiting for me to post on this site before letting me successfully separate the clocks from the loom! I only got one grazed knuckle as well!
