Hi Chaps,
having trouble setting up my speedo.
I have an inductive sensor mounted @ 90 degress counting the diff flange bolts.
I have followed the insructions from the gauge
1-measure the circumferance of wheel using rolling test
2-work out how many revs of the wheel per km
3-multiply by number of bolts
4-multiply by diff ratio
5- put result into chart to set dip switches.
but still seems wildly out to my sat nav when tested yesterday, more than 10 mph out on the plus side.
I have played with various different wheel circumferance measurements.
If its reading over should i make my wheel circumerance bigger or smaller to reduce the result number and hence change the dip switch settings?
Smaller.
Just keep adjusting a bit at a time
miles vs km error?
^ hmm, i thought they were usually set up on miles (as they read in MPH)
Remember that it can over read by a fair amount but if it under reads by even 1mph it is a failure. You say it is 10mph over at what speed?
Paul.
hi guys, i have been out trying for a spin to calibrate the speedo, i have changed the settings quite a bit from my calculated result and it seems a
lot better, the only way i will truely know is when its on the rolling road at the retest,
cheers thanks for everybodys input
