I've got a 79 pinto anybody know the place to connect a rev counter?
thanks
Andrew
negative terminal of coil is usual place. Rusty
If you have the wiring from the car there is a light green wire there which is used for the job.
hope this helps

Thanks for the diagram, I figured it wasn't too difficult. Interestingly my pre 85 pinto does not seem to run the amp unit. Just a black wire from the coil to the side of the distributor (Condenser?)
My ignition doesnt have an amp either, just a black lead coming from the side of the dizzy with a plug on the end. Where does this attach to the
coil?
Thanks
The thin black lead from the dizzy goes to the coil -Ve, HT lead into the centre and the -Ve of the coil is connected to the ignition.
Setup the revcounter to the black lead and it works no problem.

So there is no earth connection to the coil then? Also there is a plug like a small spark plug connector on the end of the this black wire, shall i
just cut this off and put a spade connector on.
Thanks
