A denso alternator question...

Anyone know how much current is required on the switched feed to the regulator in a denso alternator?

Cheers,
David

no, but I could measure it.

I am using small wire* that has not gone up in smoke; my guess would be less than 1 A.

update: quick google shows that someone is using 5 A fuse so looking good for my prediction!

* this is brown wire from mains cable so wouldn't be rated at more than 13 A.

Thanks for that.

Was just wondering as I would prefer to tee into another switched live if I can rather than run another cable from the ignition switch.

Part way through the re-wire and I realised I had forgotten it!

Don't feel bad - theres nothing dense about that question.

Sorry I'll get my coat.

23.8 mA

I have a U-loop running to the coil power supply on the opposite side of the engine bay.

Didn't want to unravel the loom and remove the dash to wire it in "properly".

Jeez, not a lot then.

Thanks very much for that
