I failed my IVA yesterday, minor things some of it.

One of the fail points was that I can switch the rear fog lights on when just the side lights are on and they should only be supplied from either dipped or full beam.

Premier seem to be on hols or away until the 6th October.

Anybody else looked at this and know which wires to move from where to where?

I am guessing it will all be around the steering column switches, just wonder if anyone has solved the problem already?

take the feed for your fog light switch from the dip and or main headlight rather than the side light, simples....

Maybe best from the dip rather than the main beam as it's unlikely you'll need the fog light if you can have the main beam on?

The way the IVA reads it needs to be both dip and main, so the feed for the fog light switch needs to be moved from the side light position and moved to the second position on the light switch.

The only issues I have is this may mean digging into the loom to find it as it seems to be a join somewhere.

The best solution to me may be to install another wire from the headlight feed to the fog switch.

As you never get a wiring diagramme for the loom it is hard a to decide decide on a suitable point without just using a voltmeter and poking around.

Can you not just take the feed from the "dip" pin on the stalks Adrian. They're close to the fog switch as well and it'll save you digging into the loom or am I confusing myself?

Might be a better idea to take the feed for the fog light from the change over relay , that way you will reduce the load on the switch

I agree with rustynuts, it might be the better option.

On the subject of Dip or Main, I suppose the IVA is trying to cover all possibilities, there will always be some muppet on main beam in thick fog! so it makes sense to wire it for both situations.

That is a good idea, it must be the same feed for the two relays one for dip and one for main that is used on the wiring loom, thanks for that will investigate with meter tomorrow if it stops raining.

I assume being able to put fog lights on from normal side lights was OK for SVA.

That will be 2 down and a few to go!

Should be able to tell you how to sort it in about 3 seconds.

I tried the office number today and not back until the 6th
Hence my initial post. I have a retest date for the 7th in the morning and it was cutting it a bit fine.

I may cancel it anyway as considering spending a bit of time on one of the fixes if I can not get bits quick enough there is no point in paying for too many retests.

I have sorted a couple of these looms
for my mates that had this problem.
I took the feed for the fog switch
from the dip beam feed in.If my
memory serves me correctly
the wire feeds the dip relay and loops to the main
relay.

I spoke with Alan yesterday and sent an email still awaiting a response. Apparently on the later BG90 switches it is a switched earth! rather then switched positive.

Not taken the dash off yet to look as I am still solving the brakes.

As soon as I get a working response or solve this anyway I will post here.
