Blue (earth.1), red (fast.3) and yellow (slow.5) are wires from the motor brushes to the park switch which you need for self parking. Rescued attachment motortrim.jpg

On mine, the park doesn't work, so I used the extra switch I had it wired to (in addition to the off, slow and fast switch) changed into a reverse light switch.

Are you using a Lucas wiper motor similar to the one in Dusty's photo? If so parking problem is likely to be either the parking switch or possibly excessive end float in the drive gear shaft. Just take off the circlip on the end of the shaft and shim the play out , it may cure the problem. IIRC The Robin Hood owners site has a diagram showing what wire does what, might be worth a look

Thanks Rusty, but the inspector here doesn't care if it parks by itself or not, so I'm going to do something I don't usually do: ignore the issue and hope I never think about it again! The wiper is the absolute least of my build problems at the mo. I'm very very close to finished.
