Minimum wiring req for pinto

Hi guys, due to a change of plans i am now fitting a 2.0L pinto into my roadster, It has a points type dizzy, im not sure the coil i have is for that type of dizzy, how do i tell? also whats the minimum wiring i need to get this to run.

Also I have a megajolt from my zetec, what would i need to do to the pinto to get it to run on megajolt.

Minimum wiring for points ignition?

+ve supply to coil..... connect coil to dizzy points...

+ve to starter and starter solonoid... jobs a goodun!

use the mega jolt, you'll need a trigger wheel, sensor, coil pack and ht leads to suit and an edis4, think that's some picture in my gallery how I put it all together!

Who didn't read the first post then, he is using a pinto with POINTS, so just needs the one ignition wire to the coil, and a trigger wire to fire the starter, don't wire the coil to the battery or you will fry it as it will be on 24/7, it needs to be ignition fed or at least a switch to switch on and off.

also, the ford coil is 9v, so would need a ballast resister to stop the coil eventually buring out, but if you use a british leyland coil, they are 12v so don't need the ballast resister ( think the ceramic thing on a ford was a ballast resister, sure some one will tell me).

I believe you can run megajolt from the distributor, screw down the base plate and solder the advance mechanism, talk to Phil at extra EFI
