Anyone got any recommendations for a sender for an electronic speedo?
Cheers
Depends really on what clocks you are using...
I was planning on getting my guages from www.greengauges.com
But they all work on pulses don't they, so does it matter?
Just lots of options thats all.
Green gauges do a sender for their speedo's. Order one with your gauges. IIRC they are not too dear.
But the question is: Which one?

Through experience - we are using the Fireblade clocks which came with our donor bike and apparently the senders are specific to clocks. So, it depends which clocks you buy that sort of dictates which senders you buy - if I said that right! Obviously it's up to you which clocks you buy but I'd buy the specific senders for them. Hope that explains better!
But Greengauges list four different types:
Magnetic Speed Sensor
Counts Prop Shaft Revs
Quenched Oscillator Speed Sensor
Uses Mech Speedo Take off
Speed Sensor with Proximity Switch
Inductive Proximity Speed Sensor
Speed sensor with Reed Switch
Greengauges Speed Sensor Kit containing a Reed switch and Magnets
Just wondered what others have used

We have ETB instruments, 80mm dia speedo with magnetic sensor measuring prop shaft speed recommended by ETB as the easiest to fit and setup.

I used Nordskog, Magnetic Speed Sensor (Hall Effect) £44
Just needs to be close too (1 or 2 mm) from rotating part of propshaft (yokes of uni joint etc)
I used a magnetic sensor, but GreenGauges do have a tech e-mail address, and a phone line. Give them a call, they'll give you the definitive answer.
