Which cars came with suitable lightweight cheap radiator fans which could be used on a seven? Ive heard metro based rumours?
Cheers!
i have got the fan off a 1.6 fiat bravo/brava on my clio rad. fits a treat and cools the car down very quickly.
Just make sure you buy the correct orientation i.e. pusher fan in front of the rad or puller behind.
It's not simply a case of buying any fan and reversing the polarity/direction (says he who found out the hard way years ago!)
HTH.

I was told some AC fans are quite slim.
mines off of a proton - nearly pulls the car along....
Might actually be as cheap to buy a new fan --- I squeezed one of these behind the rad on my tintop.

I use a Mk1 Nissan Micra rad. It comes from the scrappy with a fan already fitted.

I'd go with BT on this one.
been looking for 11inch - there is a few on ebay. plus larger/smaller sizes, all coming in around £ 20.
a few years back, the choie was limited and the pices were £ 60 + ... gues there is loads of chinese fans coming in.
... and if you getr fan from scrappy, you be paying similar price for an old fan hence you may be better off with an ebay fan.
On recomendation I though i might fit a Mondeo to the back of my polo rad due to the nice shroud it comes with.
Lots on ebay but will proberbly be able to get locally for less.

If you can find one a late 80s/early90s Nissan (mabye other similar age Nissan would have one too?) Sunny has a very slim fan, the whole lot from
blade tips on the inside to the back of the motor could be under 50mm.
I used them on my grasser, 2 of them side by side fit over a Sierra radiator just about perfectly to give an idea of size, they're pull through
ones though so need to be on the engine bay side of the rad
I use a Fiesta fan - Mk 3 I think. It's not handed so can be spun in both directions. Some handed fans can be taken off their pivot and reversed. As above in one post you can't just reverse polarity unless it's a non-handed fan. I have a pretty good reversible fan (Pacet I think) if anyone needs one, although it's too big to fit on a polo rad - which is why I swapped.
