rev limiter zetec
steveyb - 9/12/09 at 05:01 PM

Does the earlier 2.0 zetec mondeos 93 – 96 not have a rev limiter?
i have the engine of one fitted in my sierra. But it jus revs but doesn’t cut out/ limit
is there any way I can get it to? Would I have to change the brain and pats module?
its a TELL ecu
thanks

dont think ECU fitted with a rev limiter mine peaks at 6600 and has been reved to 7500 with no sign of one, think only option is standalone rev limiter like omex one at £100 ish or aftermarket ECU

Do you really need a rev limiter? Added work, complication and something else to go wrong.

You must be able to tell where the power curve ends, and shift accordingly?

goes well was actually suprised as i didnt expect it to be that much but its still no v6 24v cosworth, now it is fun.
i took it up the road when it was wet and when i hit 2nd she set out to the side an i only have a standard open diff in her at the min. but i'm in the middle of building a cossie diff for it.
its some improvement from the cvheap engine and i would find it better than the 2.0 twincam 8v engine that come in sierras. i also made my own stainless 4 branch for it too.
i've also located another mondeo now for the other one so picking it up at the weekend.

still a good bit to finish off and tidy up but heres the only pic i have at the min of the 4 branch i made.

and you can see the water rail there aswell
