hi all...

ive made my dash template tonight and i want to fit a smiths tacho to coinside with my smiths mini guages...

i have found one from an mgb and wondered if this is a standard type of thing to wire up? coil pulse live and earth?

maybe.

the early MGB, RV 1419/00 tacho had a white wire loop that connnects in between the power and coil i.e. two contacts and appeared in postive and negative earth variants. It can be converted to negative earth.

the later RV 1433/00 was never used for positive earth and just has one wire to connect to the coil plus another to connect to switched live. Again, like its predecessor, the connections sit in between switch 12 V and the coil.

the lastest one, RV 1410/00 is like voltage driven, as opposed to current driven thus connects to the ignion coil.
