EDIS Query

Hi,
Have I understood this correctly
The edis unit will send a signal to the coil pack to spark the plugs even if it is not plugged in to the ecu?

thanks

Frank

Correct - it's a good test of all of the basic connections. You will need the VR sensor plugged in though.

In this setup (VR sensor - EDIS - coil-pack) the ignition timing will be 10 degrees BTDC. This is called "limp-home mode" so that you can drive home if the ECU packs up.

yes 10 btdc, provided the trigger wheel and the crank sensor are aligned correctly.

surely not much help if your ECU controls the injectors though
