Wiring Advice for RH Loom & Bright 6 Warning Light Module
Jaybeee - 15/1/10 at 11:18 PM

Advice needed I have a RH Wiring loom and Bright 6 Warning Light Module. I have wired the bright 6 as directed in the documents that came with it but when I connect up to Ignition light it all works, as it should but when I turn off the ignition and remove the key the engine continues to run!

Someone suggested that I checked the voltage on the alternator. On my alternator there is 1 wiring block with 3 wires connected to it the 2 bigger wires connect to the battery and the smaller 3rd wire I have connected to the bright 6 unit, the only other wire is a single wire that connects to the auto choke unit.

Can anyone see where I've gone wrong?

Many thanks for any advice.

Jason

it sound like you have a permanent feed to the bright light module. are you sure the alternator is wired corrrectly ?

I had a similar issue but mine just ran on for a little while (2 or 3 secs), fitted diodes to the alt/chrage light and fan + feed and my problems gone.

P.S Also had to put a couple on the indicators too.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply can you tell me what sort of diodes I need to buy and where do you suggest I get them from?

Wish id seen this post before i damaged my first alternator and then my second one.

I have a bright 6 and same issues, burnt out the first alternator and never relised i had a problem with wiring and then the second one went just yesterday never knew it was bright 6 causing the issue.

Whats the correct diode i require and the best place too put it? and do i just need one on my alt light wire and thats it??
