kipper - 4/2/10 at 04:52 PM

As above , are they available with dip in one small unit to save having two as on the aerial and others?
If so where can I get them?
I want them for the three wheeler
Regards Denis.

just dip? or main and dip? or dip and side with seperate main?

all those combinations are available. SVC have them all, 90mm lights. you'd have to make an enclosure for them though. russbost does some too i think

I know Russ sells them as Furore car. Give him a ring, im sure he will be of great assistance

I sell them as chassis units

Or can provide fibreglass housings for them

They are just over half the size of the Hella units at just 50mm dia across the lens

& are substantially cheaper - you can see some pics on the car at my website www.furorecars.co.uk

Cheers Russ

This doesnt translate to me lol. Im guessing what you mean is one unit for low beam and high beam like they do on the higher end BMW's and Mercedes?

I want to put Projectors on my car im building i have been looking at the housings on ebay for roughly $60 US for a used pair. Id rather buy two with hi/low variability then 4 with single settings.

Are these ones both hi/low in one unit?

russbost - 4/2/10 at 10:19 PM

Just to clarify the units I've shown above have dip/main (hi/low for our friends across the pond!) within the same unit.
Unfortunately they are £70ea (less 10% to locosters) rather than $60 a pair!!! You guys in the states get all the best deals!

Blue Devil - 5/2/10 at 05:30 AM

The $60 per pair is just for low beams, so it would be $120 for a set of lows and a set of highs.

You guys have all the great donors for the locost cars, so you are the ones with the deals. Plus you have all the kit builders and awesome car shows!

Also I promise I'm trying to pick up on the different terms for the same parts... Top Gear seems to help.

looks good, how well do they work compared to a normal 5 3/4 headlight?

has anyone fitted them to a 7 type car?

Toltec - 6/2/10 at 05:04 PM

Looks like an interesting setup Russ, has it made it through an IVA with those led side lights?

Have you had any issues with water ingress past the mounting flange into the housing on those lamps?

"looks good, how well do they work compared to a normal 5 3/4 headlight?

The projector beam is really sharp, you could take a ruler to the edges if projected onto a flat surface! So it's easy to get the light where you want it rather than a more vague "splodge!" - so I would say considerably better than a 5 & 3/4 or 7" headlamp.

Honestly don't know if anyones put them on a 7 yet, I've only sold the pods to people building Furores so far (so not too many!! So defo not with my pods, but I've sold a lot of these on Ebay & I know some people have made their own mounts up for them, more common installation is in the back of an existing lamp housing

No, tho' I can't see why it wouldn't, it went thro' SVA with a set of Dominators on because I wanted to prove for myself they'd pass SVA ok. IVA has actually clarified that a flat beam is most definitely ok, so the projectors would have no prob - the leds would be down to the tester on the day

"Have you had any issues with water ingress past the mounting flange into the housing on those lamps?"

The chassis lamps could be mounted exposed if you wanted, they are totally sealed from the front, the only place water could get in would be around the back past the bulb, & you'd need to virtually submerge them for that to happen! I drove the car back from Le Mans last year thro' 2 hours of the most torrential rain & very high winds with no probs at all with the lights (discovered I shouldn't have left the dizzy cap so exposed! Doh)
