Hi, as I have mentioned in the past I was designing a digital dash. It is now complete!





Some of the features:

0-60, 0-100mph timers.

quater mile timer, with teminal speed.

Gear indication.

Speed is shown constantly (cannot be turned off)

User defined startup messages.

User defined display, 4 lines of data shown per screen, up to 11 screens (user defined)

Relay output.

6 Analogue inputs, each input can be mapped to different functions. An input can be used for dimmining lights at night. Another input can be used to indicate reverse if required.

11 warning lights, hidden till lit: Left, right Indicators Battery, Oil, Brake warning, User defined warning, Fuel, Fog, Main beam, ABS, ECU.

Ability to communicate with compatible ECU's via the in built serial interface such as megasquirt.

Lap timer function. Last 64 lap times can be downloaded, with indication of actual session lap number.

Trip counter, Non resetable odometer.

Data logging, 22 minutes as standard. Data can be downloaded using a PC and saved in csv format. This data can be then open in a spresdsheet such as excel.

Up to three automatic preset brightness settings. For IVA sidelights need to be indicated, the dash dimming is one method allowed.

Looks very nice, but is there no tacho ?

Looks nice and seems to have some great features

But I would take some better pictures to show it off a bit better

Shame as I bought my new dash last year

Are you going to do a simple version, such as for a Pinto?

The tacho is the upper bar graph, changes colour according to rpm (BLUE, PINK, RED), and flashes at a user defined preset value.
On the multi function screen rpm and max rpm can be shown.

Re pictures, I am trying to sort that out, digital cameras are quite hard to get a good picture when the object is bright and or multiplexed.

The multi function display is designed to show 1 - 11 screens. It is user defined using the pc software. For a simple engine you might only have 3 screens
on 1:
Rpm
Water temp
Oil pressure
Fuel

2:
Quater mile
Timers 0-60 0 -100
timers 0-60-0 0-100-0
laptimer

3:
Power
datalog on / off
speed mph kmph selection
oil pressure.


Or whatever you decide.

Yeah pink is a mixture of red and blue.
You can opt for red, blue and flashing though - avoiding the whole pink issue!

does it have shift lights?
i thought that was the lights at the top!

User defined range.
You choose the rpm for the first led to light, and the value all 16 are lit.
The colour the leds are is seperate, set according to rpm.
You can choose 0 - 7000 rpm range with blue to 4000, pink to 5000, then red above 6000. At 7100 the display can be set to flash.

Or you can set the range 5000 - 7000 so it operates more as a shift light, rather than tacho.

So no good for a bec with around 14K rpm!

It works to 20, 000 rpm, was just giving an example for a CEC. It will actually read higher than 20,000 but the PC software is "limited" to 20,000.

Warranty : 1 year faulty parts / workmanship

Re senders: the tdash is designed to use pre existing temperature sensors, as the calibration can be set in the PC software.
It can also conect to megasquirt and read the temp readings from there.
Or use the same temp signal as the ecu.

I am looking into suppling a temp sender / oil pressure switch/ sender kit for a reasonable price (when bought with a dash).

I like that a lot... need to get my car running before spending on bling though! lets hope you are still making them when I need one!

looks good, wish i could make something like that, although at that price your competing against the likes of the etb digidash, and above that the race techonology dash system which bot seem better units to the novice eye

In the future I might make something where function follows form, this dash has a more "mature" style of design.
Probally one that would have a seperate control unit to allow the display to have a compact shape.

One of the problems I have noticed with other dashes is that the irregular shapes are a pain to fit, and sometimes don`t blend with the rest of the interior.
