Hi all. Please help!! got my 1st track day at brands on 27th of feb and my indy blade is cutting out when light are on.ok on side lights but when you
put dip or main on when driving feels as though someone has turned ign off for a split second then back on again.tried running direct feed to ecu
still cuts out.have basically used the standard blade loom but elongated.have checked all wiring all looks ok.has anyone come accross this before.if
not might have to rewire complete lighting.poss relay issue??
thanks

1st measure the battery voltage With nothing at all switched on.
Then measure it with the engine running,
Then turn on the lights.
See what happens to the battery voltage.
It may be a naff battery AND very little charge ie the voltage falls so far the electronics running the ignition just falls over.
I'm not a BEC man, but do these tests first and see what the voltage does.
If the voltage holds 12-13Volts and the engine still stops, then its got to be something else.
Is the battery a good one. Remember most of our cars have stood all winter, have you kept it on a maintenance charge, or given it regular charges?
The weather is bad for batteries at the moment, ie its freezing and a marginal battery will show its bad side in this sort of weather.
Does it do it if you use the Battery off your car on the Kit?
Charge up the battery and take it to a tyre battery centre, and get them to load test it.
Try a few things like this to see whats happening.
EDIT:
When you turn on the lights with the engine running do the lights come on or attempt to light up? or does it just cut out imediately. Take out one
headlight bulb at a time and re check. It could be a short circuit bulb pulling tha battery voltage down enough to kill the engine. This could show up
as the bulb not lighting up.
Just a thought.

As above, check battery and charge is ok, a bike engine won't run if voltage is too low. Also check your earth, clean all earthing points and battery terminals
all good suggestions but still think a wiring issue.also when you ref engine to 6000rpm in neutral and put lights on intermit the rev counter just
drops by a few thousand rpm for a split second then back up to 6000 then drop of again etc etc.nay be i'll try fully charging battery put a jump
pack on it and see weather revs still drop.many thanks

My tacho did exactly the same when the battery collapsed
