How has everyone else done their engine looms? I have been playing with my megasquirt today, and thinking about how and where im going to mount
it.
Ive decided im going to mount it inside the cockpit, on the rear bulkhead, and have a socket in the engine bay from the MS loom which would allow me
to unplug the MS and fly-lead as and when i want.
This is the socket and plug that ive just bought. All of the wiring from the engine will be hidden, and doing it this way, i will be able to unplug
the wiring loom and remove the whole engine without de-wiring it or removing the sensors / connectors.
Mine is one piece and as simple as possible. It unplugs from the engine in about 2 minutes, most of which is spent on cutting zipties.
If you use a decent connector, it would be a nice touch to make it quickly detachable though!
blimey that is some pretty heavy duty military hardware you have there.
i'd have thoughta regular d-type connector - cheap as chips woiuld cope if mounted sensible, it is not as it you are goin off road or to a war
zone.
My god, that's the very type of connector I've been searching for for the past hour or so!
I wanted to have the loom split where it passes through the scuttle and they looks perfect, where did you find it and have you any idea on the Amps it
can take?
On a side note (quick hijack, sorry) , if something is rated at say 3A @ 120v does that mean it will take 30A @ 12v?
