from a pinto wiring loom i believe it goes in line with the feed to the live side of the coil (please correct me if im wrong)
it looks like a capacitor, so its a noise supressor
thats what i thought, i was told it was a ballast resistor but i thought sierra ignitions were 12v and not ballast
if you search for "ford sierra ballast resistor" on google or whatever, a few results come up, so i guess it might be possible?

It is a capacitor, spike suppression. It even has its values on it
2.2uF 110 Volts.

that i saw thats what made me think it wasnt a ballast resistor as the measurement was in farads not ohms
That would be a 2.2 uF capacitor to stop spikes and naughtyness
