Hi, I have bought a Merc CLK with 230 engine to fit to a chassis I am building. The written off car has all running gear and g/box etc which is great,
but they have lost the imoboliser fob for the stock ecu.
The rude and thieving gits at Merc want £230 for a fob, I'll leave you to guess what they can go and do!
Does any one know where I can get this coded without losing a kidney or having to supply my own lube?
Or any other ideas how to get around this that don't involve an after market ecu or a rogering?
megasquirt seems the best option to me. yes it does mean a new ecu, but its a fully programmable one. and will most likely cost a fair bit less than one from merc. will be a fair upgrade too i reckon.

maybe try www.partsgateway.co.uk ? they search about 5 or 6 merc breakers. might come up trumps. i've had a door for my bmw for £40 inc next day delivery, and a radiator for £30 delivery included. worth a shot
There is a web forum which is part of one of the mobile phone hacking forums where you will find somebody who will know how to hack this trouble e is the anoraks who hang around that forum especially the moderator are the most unfriendly bunch you will ever find and positively hostile to strangers. I lurked for a bit bit I got so pissed off by the way jumped on strangers asking basic questions. Problem is I have lost the URL.
If Mercedes are like BMW the transponder key has to be ordered from Germany specific to the chassis number, the transponder will then disable the immobiliser. The alarm and door locking on the donor would be separate from immobiliser and the new fob would be introduced to the cars bcu by the dealer.
