I need help identifying my fuel sender that is in the fuel tank of my British made Locost. The donor was a 1979 Escort mk2 Estate. The sender has a flange about 8.5-9.0cm in diameter. The flange is the type you put a flat bladed screwdriver on to the notches that go around the perimeter and hit the screwdriver with a hammer to unscrew it. I can’t seem to find a replacement for it here in the States and I do not see any like it on the UK ebay site. Also the sender goes to a Cortina fuel gauge. Does anyone know what signal it requires? I have never had a working fuel gauge and I am tired of it. Thanks Russ

No, that is not it. I forgot to say it has one wire coming from it to the gauge. No fuel connections on it at all. Nor is there a fuel pump. And it
mounts horizontal. It is real simple. Russ

Is it the same as this one? Ignore the ring that just holds the plate that holds the sender. If it is the same then it is from a Mk2 Escort.

looks like it. I wonder why I never see one on UK ebay. Do you know what year or better yet have a Ford part number? Tks Russ
Oooo there is a couple on ebay that look like that. Boy are they expensive!!!! Russ
Is yours wired correctly? The live goes to the terminal on the sender, but the body of the sender must be grounded. You'll see in the photo that
I have a wire to the ring on the tank. Mine is from a 1980 Mk2 Escort, but I believe they were the same for all Mk2's from 1975 to 1980. I had to
modify the float arm to fit and work in my tank.

Have you asked on here? Someone may have one from when they broke their donor, but not used it.
