COuld someone possibly confirm some lighting wiring colours?
eznfrank - 30/4/10 at 01:41 PM

My headlamps didn't come with a wiring diagram so I called the supplier and they advised me the colours were:

Red - Main beam
Green - Dip beam
Blue - Side lamps
Black - Earth

I also could do with knowing the rear/stop light colours, I have green, red and black.

Based on the above I would have thought it would be

Black - Earth
Green - Brake light
Red - rear light

But that sounds wrong?

GRRRRRR - I took today off work to spend in the garage and seem to have got sod all done!!

Couldn't you just connect a 12v battery to the lamps to confirm this yourself. That what I did when I got mu 2nd hand lights. Took 5 mins.

on my vicky green loom

main beam - blue with white line
dipped - blue with red line
12v supply to side - red
earths - black

don't think that helps though

My rear lights were:

Black - earth
Red - tail light
Black/Green - brake.

The loom is a chopped about zx12 loom which by some feat of magic I have managed to make work in most aspects.

As above I'll have to do a bit of testing I guess, I just haven't got a ful battery at the moment that's all

Im with deezee, find out which is the earth then just put each of the other wires to a 12v supply and see what light comes on

That is the widely used old Lucas way of doing it.
