Acewell RPM + or - of coil (std dizzy)??

My acewell instructions show the tacho input coming from the + side of the coil, is this right? will it sense?

Strange not to be on the switched side I thought.....

Any help would be great, cheers

Hi Stott

I put mine to the - side this week worked spot on. This was with a Lumination electronic ignition (Pinto).

Thanks, thought so, it's been the case with every tacho I've seen, I'm running a 2.0 pinto with ford ESCII so I'll do it like that

correct it goes to the negative side

the positive is a constant 12v to the coil, its the negative side that is being switched
