Hi,

having a few snags getting my alt to charge.

It has 3 wires, 1 fat red to battery, 1 small blue one and 1 small blue & white one.

One of the small ones goes to the charging lamp, whats the other one for?? It seems to head of to a relay???

I have tried bypassing the relay and putting that straight to the battery +, it did charge but wires got a bit warm.

Do i need the extra wire??

Any ideas on how it should be done?

Ps its an original sierra loom which as been tweaked abit???

Blue/White goes to the electric choke on the carb. Blue to ignition light on the dash. Big red to battery positive, via starter terminal if that's more convenient.

got bike carbs so can bin that wire then.

cheers for that. Terminated the blue and white.

All seems to work, charges and the light goes out.

Not instantly but it does.
