Savage/APEM/Cater*am Type Switches
Neville Jones - 11/8/10 at 10:39 AM

I've got a dash here I bought for a good price, with a set of the switches as above.

What I need to know, before wading in with my big hammer and screwdriver, is How do the switches come apart for removal from the panel?

They appear to snap together somehow, and I'll probably break a couple before all becomes clear. ;(

Thanks,
Nev.

If you mean the alloy round type they should come out very easily. there should be a square terminal block on the back, release this with a small screwdriver on the tab on one side and slide off. Then there should be a circular locking ring which you just unscrew and pull the switch out of the dash.

Hope this helps,
Simon.

OK, thanks. The latch is on the square terminal block part, and not in the round section as I was thinking. They come apart very easily when you know how!

The square terminal section is a standalone switch in its own right.

Also, when the terminal block is lifted off, the two pins for the bulb in the button, stay attached to the round button bit. For those who don't know, as I now do!

Cheers,
Nev.

Just got a PDF from APEM with a pic of the assembly. How do I put a pdf on here?
