Racing battery....

Quick battery question, would this be any good for a sylva striker.

Currently has a crossflow which will turn into a zetec or similar at some point....

Don't know anything about that one but for that price you could get an Odyssey racing battery (and probably a Varley) and they are good, start my Zetec first time, every time.

i'll be paying £60, my mate has a brand new one he doesn't want

Good buy at that price, just make sure it's big enough to crank your engine (i.e check the cranking amps you're looking for over 180, 200+ is better)

well it was for a nissan 200sx with a 2.0 turbo, so thinking about it, don't know what i'm worried about! if it can start that, will do fine on my diddy ickle thing!

you should be fine. the spec says:

31Amp/hr, 475CCA

when i had my 200sx i had a varley redtop powering it. that had 625CCA i believe. it actually made it crank over quicker than what the original battery did

I always had 19 Amp/hr bike batteries on my Striker with a 4AGE so that should be fine.

The engines compression and flywheel play quite a large part in starting.

More compression makes it harder, bigger flywheel makes it easier.

Turbo charged should be easier (as low comp).
