Does anyone know how i can identify which wire is which from a throttle position sensor before i connect to Megajolt ECU. There's 3 wires from
the TPS, one is TPS Input, one is earth and one is Vref according to the Autosports Labs installation guide but i dont know which is which. The TPS
is from a set of Suzuki GSXR bike carbs
Also if i got it wrong would it damage the ECU?
IIRC there is no current limiting on the Vref supply apart from that within the internal 500mA 5v regulator. Getting the Vref and TPS or GND and TPS
swapped would mean this supply is shorted at one end of the TPS range. It probably won't do any damage to the ECU, but might not do the TPS any
favours.
If you have a multimeter then simply find the two terminals where the resistance doesn't change when you move the TPS. These two are the Vref
and Ground connections, the other one is the TPS. To find which is Vref and which is ground measure between the TPS and each of the other connection
with the pot in the idle state (throttle closed). The connection with the lowest resistance will be the ground connection.
if yours is same as mine, then looking at the plug sensor, you will have a bit of a lug on top and 2 small lugs on bottom. if your plug is this way,
then the wiring goes v ref , input and ground
