not quite sure what should be on, when. is it:
Side light=side light only
Headlight=headlight only
Main beam=Headlight and main beam
Flash= all 3 lamps on.
Or have i got it completely wrong??
not sure about the law, but on a sierra the flash is all three, and the perminant main beam is mb without the dipped beam. dunno why though, but the sierra switch gear sorts it all out for you, and also allows the flash on sides but not the perminant.
Thanks Joel.
I knew i should'nt have thrown the sierra loom out !

i'm getting there!
IIRC - the SVA Manual states that the sidelights should be lit when dipbeam and fullbeam is on.
On flash: dip and full beams are lit (as it's only for a short time)
On switch: dip goes off, fullbeam comes on.
If you use the 1987 sierra stalk's it should be how it works. (Our's works this way)
HTH
If dip and main are in the same housing through a single bulb and they stay on together the bulb burns out. If they are in seperate housings, twin headlamps, they can stay on together Sidelights stay on in case a bulb blows.
