bit of advice if I may.
Just collecting all the bits for my Zetec conversion (from CVH) and i'm about to order the Megajolt to power the ignition.
On my dads car we are running fireblade carbs and 2D ignition. I'm keen to run 3D, and was wondering what was easier with twin 45 webers - MAP or
TPS?
The manifold is a Dunnell 901 if that makes a difference. I assume i'll need some parts/sensors but have no idea where to start!

It is typically considered more accurate, as it measures the engines "breathing". Unless its a wild cam.
Tps is easiest, you can get a kit from northampton motorsport for about 80 quid I'm about to order one Friday myself
Ok, so how do you measure MAP? and what do i need to enable me to 'plug in' to the MJ?

TPS for multi carb'd setups - its just easier
there is a reson why most of the carb'd bikes run TPS's - and if its good enough for an R1 / ZX9R then its good enough for your engine 
TPS - all you need for is to attach it to the TPS to the end of the spindle on the carbs then run the 3 wires to the MJ
(I beleve some folk were using TPS's from a mondeo to keep costs down)
loads of folk have done it before - run a search on this site for weber and TPS (I just read something about emerald selling spindle adapters that
suit webers....)
MAP - you need a Vac. line from each branch of your manifold - then you need to join these together in a chamber big enough to 'iron out'
the lumpy vac. signal you can get from the individual ones then connect a vac. line from this to the actual MAP sensor (inside the MAP version of MJ
in most cases)
some folk just connect one vac. line to the MJ, but MJ want to see a nice 'smooth' signal like you'd get from a single carb - but one
cyl can give you a lumpy signal as its only sucking when that cyl's inlet valve is open.... (this can upset MJ)
this is the same reason why all the modified dizzy's for multi carb'd setups have the vac. advance removed (i.e. they use a 2D setup because
of the issues with the Vac. signal)
of course you can buy either version of MJ now and just run it in 2D mode untill you get round to sorting out the extra sensor for 3D later

I am also looking for a little help., I have a 2000zetec, standard as out of the donor except it has megasquirt.
First off can anyone recommend someone that can help me set the megasquirt, rolling road or tuning thing, not sure of the best way.
Location is Leicester, and somewhere local would be good.

I'd go for TPS in this case. It might not be quite as good as MAP, but it will still give you ignition control immeasurably more accurate than a distributor and getting a good MAP signal from one choke per cylinder is a PITA.
Right, MAP sounds too complicated for my tiny brain, so TPS it is.

So are all TPS sensors essentially the same? Anything i need to look out for?
Some fords with single point injection had a sensor identical to the one that some company's sell for add on use.I think the fiestas and ford
KAs had them as well as some escorts, you just need to make a bracket to bolt it to the end of the carb and make a spindle extension with a flat on
it.Most TPS will work and I have used both the ford type and Bosch as fitted to Vauxhalls Peugeot etc.

MJ can work with most TPS's as far as I know, have read at the megajolt manual / website - it tells you how to calibrate the TPS
(I assume almost all of them will turn through ~90 deg. )
as for which one is the easiest to fit - I'd have a look / search to see what exactly other folk have done
(at this point I'm not much help as my ZX9R carbs have a TPS as standard)
I made my own bracket and 'special' nut / shaft extension to drive it, it was wasy enough, have some hex brass left if you want an extension
turning up let me know. I'm sure I've posted pics of it on here, but can't find anything in my archive....
The kits are about £65 from webcon, even at that I told them they could use it as a suppository!!

I manafctured a bracket and fitted a standard ford zetec TPS to the spindle shaft at a cos of £00 as it came with the donor not sure whether it can be seen in my archive pictures of the webbers on a manifold
