megajolt shift lights

my dash came 2nd hand a pre cut for a 80mm tacho, and 2 52mm gauges. obviously the 80mm hole will be taken up by speedo now, but i still want a tacho.

had thought about an LED shift light type affair, then remembered that megajolt has a number of programmable outputs.

the outputs are 4 user set ones, a shift light and a rev limit.

can i set the first for to light an LED every few rpm say, up to whatever the max is. i have no idea what the max is for my engine lol, 7000rpm maybe?

1 2500
2 3500
3 4500
4 5500
shift light 6500
rev limit 7000

would that do it? is there anything else i should really be using any of these outputs for?

My very thoughts, use the outputs to light a sequential shift light bar.
My thoughts were, 2x green, 2x yellow 1 bigger red
green outer lit @ peak torque, probably 4,500
Next green @ 5250
Yellow @ peak bhp
Next Yellow @ 500rpm before limit
Red atlimit or 200 before.

Good thing about the megajolt is it's easy to program if you don't like it

good idea don't know what all these figures would be for my car though. as you say, easily programmed though

should i be using any outputs for anything else though? can't think of what else they'd be for.

and what voltage is the output?

I used the MJ outputs for shift lights - it works very well.

I set it up so that the last light (bright red) comes on just before the MJ soft rev-limiter cuts in.

All the wiring details are on the Autosport Labs website...

The output connects to ground when turned on, Ie if using an LED you would have an led and series resistor connected to 12v and to the output required to operate it.You could use most types of led and would just need to work out the series resistor to suit its maximum current.
