I have a Hitachi alternator with a type 1 connection. I have connected the horizonatal spade connection to a switched live and the vertical to a lamp. With the engine running the charge lamp remains lit and it doesn't appear to be charging.
I have read somewhere that this alternator only needs one connection and will regulate voltage but io don't want to fry it.
Could anyone tell me what to check and how?
