Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me the following: On a zetec thermostat housing (original type) what sensor is the dash temp sensor (top or bottom) and what way round
does the wiring need to be? I have the signal wire from the gauge going to the top sensor, and an earth wire from the sensor to the chassis. I also
have the lower sensor wired into the megajolt and an earth wire.
My problem is that I have no gauge working and I know it worked fine on my pinto. I believe I have the wiring wrong on the sensors, but don't
know what way round they need to be wired, or whether I have the correct sensor wired to the gauge.
Can anyone help please?

top is ecu and bottom is gauge. I doubt the ford sensor will match your gauge.
As long as it reads something. Do you know which terminal is the signal wire? Mine didn't come with the plug so have had to use small red spades.
I will lengthen the wires then to reach the lower sender.
Thanks
Silvertop ?
You can buy a new plug for a few quid. Junior Power Timer Connector (2 Pin) kit MHC20910 | eBay UK
I havnt got one to hand but would guess its the same as the cps. Have a look on the Ms forums
Yes it is a silver top.
That plug will not fit the sensor, but thanks for posting the idea. I will pop to the scrap yard and get both thermostat sensor plugs and rewire
them.

Thats the plug for the bottom sensor used for the dash. The top one is a round one.
I got both now from a local scrappies, but having looked through the Escort manual, I think I am biting off too much with the top sensor as this as
you say goes to the ECU. I wanted this to go to the megajolt as it can take a temp sensor. The bottom one I will wire in as normal, feed to gauge and
an earth, and see waht that does.
If anyone else has used the top sensor for the megajolt I would like to hear from you.
Thanks
