Firstly, hello to the house.
Secondly, I am wiring an edis 4 and megajolt for a friend and need some advice before
going any further.
I know that pin 5 is the negative to the vr sensor and pin 6 is the positive but how do i tell
which way around they go on the pick up?
Also pins 10 and 12 go to the coil pack but what will happen if they are back to front? As its a wasted spark
system will it just fire back to front?
Lastly i am a little confused as regards wiring the tps. The instuctions state that pin 8 is ground and should
be wired to a common ground with the edis but doesnt state weather to connect both the tps and megajolt earth to this pin.
Can anyone shed some light or maybe have an idiots wiring diagram....
Sorry to all if i am being a dunce
as always,i will be eternaly greatful for help.
Andy
VR sensors seem to be a law unto themselves. If you're not getting spark, swapping the VR lines normally works. If you get 10 & 12 the wrong way, the engine will spark, but it won't run and it will probably backfire through the inlet. Again, just swap them over. EDIS seems to be remarkably tolerant of duff wiring, I never managed to blow mine up anyway
Pin 8 should be a common ground for the VR cable shield (you are using shielded two core such a microphone cable aren't you...), the PIP/SAW
cable shield and the EDIS module. All that is then grounded. The TPS should be separately grounded to the engine block along with the MJ and any
other sensors the MJ uses.

OOPS i forgot to state that pin 8 is on the MJ not the edis.
On the autosport labs site the diagrams are all seperate and it doesnt state if the installer
should connect tps,MJ and auxilury input earths all to the same pin.
I know its just an earth but i dont want to make a mistake with someone elses brand new kit.
cheers
Andy
My tps, edis, and MJ are all earthed in the same place. works fine so far, with a few hundred miles down.
as said above, i wired mine wrong initially, they do seem difficult to kill!
got to autosports lab website and follow the diagrams. it IS as easy as it looks, just be confident.
