EDIS Coil Pack
Irony - 13/5/11 at 01:58 PM

I am currently getting the bits together to build a EDIS 8 megajolt system for my V8. I am currently looking at getting the two coil packs needed. I am unsure which coil packs to get. All that I know is that is needs to come from a Ford Mondeo or similar Ford. I phoned the local scrappy and he wanted £20 each. Is there much difference between coil packs and which one would I be best to get for EDIS 8?

Thanks

silver top and black top are differant ends. Mondeo are easy to get at and find another scrap yard as I woild only pay a fiver a piece.

2 types (early and late) don't think it matters which, but they have different plugs/connectors for the HT leads

the early ones were used on the CVH/HCS engines among other things(think mid 90's 1.4 escort/fiesta or similar) the std. HT leads for these have 'normal' / old fashoned style plug ends
the later ones were mostly used on the 16v engines so the std. HT leads have the big rubber boots one them

if your getting custom leads made up then it won't matter, you just want 2 the same

this this the early type:

btw I've twice got a coil pack, EDIS4, VR sensor and all the wires for £25 from a scrapyard up here - so I don't think I'd pay £20 for a coilpack on its own )
