side repeaters, scuttle mounting ?

Hi guys,

I've set my heart on mounting my repeaters on the scuttle as I hate the way they look on the front arches. I've heard of people getting failed at iva having them scuttle mounted. I've had a look at the manual and from what my untrained eye can gather the biggest obstical will be the rear arch getting in the way of the angle of visibility. So I've sort of concluded that if I mount the repeaters high enough up on the scuttle I shouldn't have an y problems? Or am I mis interpreting something?

Any ideas/thoughts welcome

you still wont see them from the angle needed. If you want them there they will need to be on stalks.

The stalks may fall of after test

Mount them on the scuttle (they'll fail), and stick temp. ones on the wings... they fall off and the scuttle ones stay after iva

Another point is im using arch mounted indicators for the front, so it"ll look super gash with two sets of indicators on one arch..........maybe time for a rethink?

drill a hole in the scuttle and fit a rubber grommet for the IVA. After you can then do what you want ......... or just don't do anything till after IVA.

You seem to be missing the point. It's not what it looks like for iva, it's the correct position for iva. Put them in the rear arches then...

You do realise you don't need to drill holes, you can get stick on ones!

Be aware that some police forces are now becoming aware of folks dodging the construction and use regulations by modifying their cars subsequent to the IVA test ( by design or by "accident" ) and are fining heavily those they catch. the most popular one is for headlights. (repositioning)
this forum really should not be advising people how to dodge the parts of the law you don't like because it makes your "Baby" look ugly in your opinion. You need to play by the rules and do it right. If it becomes even more wide spread that cars are being modified after the IVA then the law will just impose even more rules, eventually we will have a system similar to Belgium where you can only drive a car as it left the factory.
Also if your car is old enough to not need a "cat" then you can only drive it within 10 km of your home address on a Sunday, and only to approved events on approved roads for longer trips.......The EU is based in Belgium and they are very keen on harmonisation. If we encourage rule breaking it will be decided by the suits to move towards the stricter country's rules. No i am not being paranoid my first car (a special) was built in 1988, and since then the rules have by stages become stricter. I wish to carry on building cars for many years yet, so stick by the rules and do the next generation of car builders a favour.
