I've set up my CAI Telemetrix tacho as described in the instructions and it gives a reading no problem. However, the numbers it gives seem to be
twice what they should be, for example it idles at 2000rpm and when I rev it the needle goes off the end of the scale (this is with a pinto and
0-8000rpm gauge).
There is a potentiometer for fine tuning the range, do I need to use this to scale it down or have I got something else wrong? I don't want to
mess about with the potentiometer and then find that wasn't the cause of the problem
Cheers
Pete
Hi Pete
I had the same problem, turned out i'd connected on to the wrong input wire. You have to use the correct one for your type of ignition
Adrian
Thanks Adrian, any idea which wire I need to connect it to? Currently I have it hooked up to the white/black wire which is for systems with a
dedicated tacho output. The other input wire is a red/blue wire for when you do not have a dedicated tacho output. The reason I wired mine like I have
was because the wire on my loom was white/black so I thought maybe they matched up, could be wrong though...
Pete
Never mind, just been out to the garage and tried the other wire, now it works great
