Zero electrical power
RK - 24/3/12 at 06:21 PM

Replaced and moved my battery, and had to dislodge several wires. Now, there is great power coming from the battery, but NONE to absolutely anything else. I have traced all the wires, soldered a few that appeared a bit weak in the connections, and can get no +ve to anything at all.

I am truly stumped. I think I might be in trouble this time round.

I have driven it on the road exactly TWICE.

You did connect the ground didn't you? From the battery connection where do the leads go next. I assume you must have some kind of junction/fuse box where the battery power is divided. Should be an easy problem to solve, just follow the wires back until you find the fault with a multimeter.

I'm very sorry to have bothered people. Hey, it's good to think sometimes; staves off dementia. I can't remember where I learned that...

Anyhoo, I reversed a thick wire that I was certain was for earth, but you guessed it, it was for +ve but not marked as such. Nothing had power, all the way back in the system, but I did not check the ignition switch itself, until last. Whattadummy. It's always good to reaquaint oneself with the wiring, because it is bound to come up again.

Impatient is my middle name. Actually, it's Charles, but I digress.
