Fireblade / blackbird TPS resistance
r1_pete - 24/3/12 at 07:14 PM

I just bought a carb blackbird CDI to convert my CB750 sohc to electronic ignition.

Should have gone for early blade, because this needs a TPS, but for a tenner it was worth a punt.

So, can someone measure me the resistance of the two outer connectins on a honda TPS? I have several GSXR750 TPS' and secondary TPS', so hoping I can use one of those.

Alternatively, if I don't connect up a TPS will I just get a two dimentional RPM / Advance operation?

Cheers.

Pete.

not sure if its any help but im pretty sure the one from webcon i fitted to the webers was 2k ohm and when i was looking around for other options they all seemed to be 2k ohm

As long as it is in the normal ball park the resistance shouldn't matter, on all the systems i have encountered 3 wire TPS are wired as voltage dividers with a 5v supply the ECU sees the output signal is a voltage. between 0 and 5v .
