I'm uing a Ford VR crank sensor on my V6 Mazda , as I cant work out how to use the stock hall effect (3 wire) sensor - but I am stuck on the
final connection .
There are only two wires , but which is `positive' ? I know it matters which way round its wired , but other than trial and error how can I
figure this out ?
Help
I thought the 3 wire hall effect went as follows on a megasquirt.
1, 12v supply required from a ignition live or "Vref" on megasquirt
2, Earth which would go to the "common" sensor earths on megasquirt
3, Output signal, which is usually pin 24 on megaquirt
For the VR sensor this was covered in a thread you contributed to back in 2009
!!!Here
I hope that helps
I had intended to use the hall effect sensor - but as I am running Edis I cant see how it would work
But - thanks for the heads up , that solves the problem of connecting a VR sensor plug - I allready have it wired at the Edis end .

Hi Claire,
If you follow this link, you will end up with a picture and text from FLAKmonkey.
Ignore the text, it confuses the issue....
The picture (he assures me) is correct.
