LED Side repeater on the blink
mcg - 5/8/12 at 07:57 PM

After a lot of messing around and testing on the indicator and hazard wiring, I have noticed one of the LED side repeater s is only flashing at half brightness.

Is it possible that it is randomly buggered, or can there only be somthing wrong with my wiring? I have tested it by running 12v direct to it and its still half brightness.

The LED repeater works perfect on the other side.

I thought LED's would be a reliable solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Tried swapping them over? If the one that was half brightness still is when on the other side i'd say its fubar

Check the cabling as far back as you can. If all LEDs are evenly lit (or dim) then its most likely a fault with the wiring.

If you had it connected directly to 12volts then it will be an issue with the LED's not the wiring, you'll just have to get another one.

unlikely that all the leds would fail in the same way at same time, if 12v has been fed to the leads of the repeaters, theres still wiring left leading in to and within the units that could have failed.

EDIT - having looked at the link, there may well only be 1 LED anyway, so ignore my wafflings above!!

is one possibly a 24v instead of a 12v

thanks for the inputs. I will remove from the installation and check fully before sending back. Bit of a bugger as its kinda glued in but should be fine.

Spoke to CBS and they as usual were very helpful, and said to send it back to em if it is broken. All good.

Cheers again
