i currently have the stack 8100 dash in my caterham but rev counter only goes to 8k. my hayabusa engine has a set of clocks with it,so should i keep
the stack and sell the busa clocks and fit a seperate rpm gauge. or should i sell the stack (which is worth a small fortune) and fit the busa
clocks,with seperate oil pressure gauge?
what do yopu guys think is the best way? cheers
Busa clocks with separate oil pressure gauge. Sell the stack and release some cash!
Phil
Do you want a quality, easy to read dash that brings a touch of class, reliability and accuracy or a set of toy looking bike clocks??
Although you mentioned fitting an additional rpm gauge, I think it would frustrate the hell out of me glancing at the stack when revving over te 8 k mark, so I vote bike clocks!
you do know you can get the rpm display changed?
With the additional info ^^ I vote stack dash now
I vote for the Stack dash any day of the week. Just get the rev counter swapped B-) its one of the things I would have loved for mine, but now I've got the bike clocks cut into the dash I don't want to patch the hole, or shell out for a new dash/scuttle
how do you change display. and will busa tacho read on stack set up?
I have the 8100 in the race car, but I also have the ST500 in the road car. Really nice quality dials that can be programmed and adjusted easily if
you change wheels/tyres/engine.
BUT - I always keep the bike clocks. Leave the clock plug in the loom somewhere, so that when you get an issue with the engine, you simply plug in the
clocks for the fault code. Hayabusa's are great for this.
yeah. with the k series it monitors all sorts. speed, oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, batt volts. all sorts.

yeah. i have the lap timer also but wont need it. might sell that and the busa clocks with speedo healer, and send the dash back to stack. that way i should be able to keep the sensors from the stack set up.
Sounds like a good plan
sump is main issue at moment. not decided on which way to go as yet!
but am now ready to strip out full caterham package plus type 9 and prop. to re coup some funds and 2007 busa lump already paid for! only done 1400
miles too
There's no way I would have a set of Busa clocks in a Caterham... keep it classy and get the Stack RPM changed.

Id use the busa clocks so u have quick and easy access to fi light and fault code display
Quality first and foremost, keep the stack
why not go down the cnc sump pan route, a good mate of mine run a turbo busa westy on slicks and only has a big cnc sump on it nothing else been fine for years
are you refering to the bigg cc billet sump with swinging pickup? i was looking at these and heard good stories about them. but then i heard varios people have blown engines racing with a dry sump set up.which is supposed to be the safest route!
What's your time scale to get the car done Dan? I guess you're not taking the engine out till winter?
