Stopping headlights moving
Northy - 13/9/04 at 08:47 PM

Hi guys,

This is for those of you on the road, or who have had a car on the road, I think you'll know what I'm about to say from the title....

How do you stop the headlights moving? When I was at SVA I set them up, and tightened them as tight as I dare, but they came slack on the first real drive

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Don't have mine on the road yet, but have you tried rubber washers? You could put one above and below each bracket to reduce vibration.

Locktight it. For a while things do slacken off. Including a diff!!!!!!! (identity secret)

Don't know about yours Northy but ours have a small locating notch which locks into place and pulls down when in position. If yours are the same as ours and it isn't in this notch, you will be tightening up onto the notch. Therefore, when a bit of vibration occurs the lights will come loose easily. When ours were seated correctly and using the locking washer supplied, they haven't loosened off yet (YET!)
