Having dallied with electronic throttles for a day or so I have quickly come to the conclusion that what I really need is a throttle blipper due to complexity and safety.

Whats the best (not costly ) way?

I have separate throttle bodies so the vacuum will be not too great for operating a vac powered one - or will it? I have compressed air on board for the gearchange which could be tapped off if needs be.

What experiences have you had with setting them up? I was wondering if it is difficult to set the throttle "blip" to suit all gears.

Having suffered a WOT coming into a fast bend I'm a bit neurotic about safety how do you make sure the throttle does not stick open?

In all seriousness I ended up modifying my throttle pedal (I added a long section coming down, further back) - this made it 100x easier to heel & toe nicely. Might be worth a try if your current pedal arrangement is awkward.

For other reasons I'm trying to automate a manual gearbox - lots available out there but not my application.

On change down there needs to be an increase in engine speed to make the synchro select quicker. manufacturers use electronic throttles but there are loads of safety issues so the bec chaps use throttle blippers.
